Furniture made slowly, for people who keep things
An independent Orlando studio designing honest hardwood furniture since 2019.
Four rules we do not break
01 · Repairable
Oil, not lacquer. Screws, not glue-only. If it can be fixed in your home, we finish it that way.
02 · Honest materials
Solid hardwood where you can see it and where you cannot. No veneer pretending to be oak.
03 · Fair making
Our makers are on payroll, not piecework. We publish a starting wage with every annual report.
04 · Fewer, better
One new piece a season at most. We would rather improve an existing design than replace it.
From board to bench, in our own hands
We keep the whole process under one roof so we can change a millimetre without waiting on a factory.
Joinery you can inspect
Frames are mortise-and-tenon, corner-blocked and doweled. Upholstery is
hand-stapled and hand-stitched, with the seams lined up to the cushion
crown so nothing drifts after a year of use.
- Kiln-dried hardwood, acclimatised in the studio for two weeks
- Four coats of hard-wax oil, hand-rubbed between each
- Feather-and-foam cushions wrapped in a down-proof barrier
- Every frame signed by the maker who built it
What goes into the collection
American White Oak & Walnut
FSC-certified, from mills in Ohio and Pennsylvania. We buy the whole log so the grain matches across a set.
Linen, Wool & Boucle
Woven in family-run mills in Belgium and Italy. Every fabric passes a 40,000 rub test before we specify it.
Brass, Ceramic & Steel
Hand-spun brass and solid hardware that patinas rather than peels. No plastic caps, ever.
Nine people, one workshop
The team has been together since the first bench. Every piece is made by someone
who will still be here in ten years — and who signs the frame they built.
Makers & designers in one workshop
Avg. 7 years with HMC
Design starts on the workshop floor. If a maker cannot build it comfortably,
it is the wrong design — so we prototype in oak, live with it for three months,
and only then does it reach the collection. That is why we release one piece a
season instead of twenty.
Draws, prototypes and signs off every new piece
“I rub four coats into every top, and I rub them in by hand. You can feel
when a finish has been rushed, and clients notice it years later.”
Finishing Lead
“Every frame passes my bench before it is upholstered. Square, no squeaks,
no staples where a joint should be — otherwise it goes back.”
Joinery & Frames
“My job is the last ten minutes of a two-month build. It has to feel like
the first — so I unwrap it with you, not outside in the van.”
